Michaela Krohn, DC
Dr. Krohn focuses on her patients’ health and total body balance by assessing the nervous system and activating the body’s ability as a self-healing organism.
Her special area of interest has been helping women and children achieve a natural healthcare alternative through specific individualized adjustments from pregnancy to newborns, toddlers to adolescents, all the way to adults. She strives to educate and inspire in addition to helping people heal.
Dr.Krohn is proficient in Torque Release Technique, Activator Methods, Diversified, Toggle and SacroOccipital Technique utilizing light touch. She has also been Webster Technique Certified through lcpa4kids.com, to improve pelvic function allowing for an easier pregnancy.
Amy Galeano, LMT
Amy began her studies at Kindred Spirits School of Massage, in Fairbanks, AK. Her training included: Swedish, deep tissue, and myofascial release techniques. She continued her education by traveling to Portland, Oregon for her prenatal/pregnancy massage certification.
Amy enjoys helping expectant mothers move through pregnancy and childbirth in a comfortable, supported and healthy way.
Debby Thomas, MPT
Debby Thomas comes to the Woodland Wellness Center from Hawaii each summer. She brings with her extensive rehabilitation education including Stott Pilates training with experience in treating joint, spinal, neurological, postural, pelvic and general muscle weakness dysfunction.
Her rehabilitation approaches include therapeutic exercises and patient education with home exercise programs specifically designed to each patient for self-maintenance. Her plans of care are appropriate for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics. From the inactive person with an actual injury to high-level athletes, all desiring relief from pain and improved daily performance.
Her extensive Stott Pilates rehabilitation training integrates core strengthening with flexibility and balance to enhance outcomes using a reformer, stability chair and 1/2 barrel for enjoyable therapeutic exercises with profound outcomes.
Allison Carr
Allison is a licensed Acupuncturist, originally from Portland, OR. She received her BA in history from Reed College in 1997, and her Masters Degree from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2009. She is trained in Classical Five Element Acupuncture and is certified in both Herbal Medicine and Shiatsu Therapy.
She moved to Fairbanks in 2016 and focuses her practice on Women’s Health, including fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care. She also specializes in pain relief, trauma recovery and mental/emotional wellness.Allison is a licensed Acupuncturist, originally from Portland, OR. Brian Rahm, LMT
Brian has over 20 years of experience in the practice of Thai Yoga Massage. He learned in a temple outside Katmandu Nepal, subsequently trained at Lotus Palm School in Montreal, and has taught for them also.
Amelia Bentele, LMT
Amelia was born in Alaska and studied Professional Massage and Bodywork in Salt Lake City, Utah where she learned a variety of techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and sports massage. Amelia enjoys helping her clients achieve greater overall health and quality of life.
Johnna Underwood, PT
Johnna is born in Alaska and has been working in Fairbanks doing specialized exercise prescription and Physical Therapy for over 25 years. She specializes in spine and sports rehabilitation, home health care, and gait analysis.
She has additional experience in pediatrics, woman’s health, neurological, and vestibular therapy. “Restoration thru movement”, education, and self management is a primary part of treatment. Johnna utilizes many therapy tools including: McKenzie, myofacial release, strain counter strain, muscle energy, modalities, core stabilization, and therapeutic exercise.
